Why this is the highest-scoring topic
Storage, display and transport rules are precise legal conditions, and test questions often change one word ("locked", "opaque", "attended") to see if you know the exact rule. Learn the definitions first, then the table.
Key definitions (SOR/98-209 s.1)
- Unloaded - no propellant, projectile or cartridge that can be discharged is in the breech or firing chamber, nor in a cartridge magazine attached to or inserted into the firearm. A loaded magazine detached from the firearm does not make it "loaded" under this definition (but keep it away from the firearm anyway).
- Secure locking device - a device that can only be opened with a key (electronic, magnetic or mechanical) or a combination, and that prevents the firearm from being discharged when applied (trigger lock, cable lock, action lock).
- Unattended vehicle - not under the direct and immediate supervision of a person who is 18 or older or who holds a firearms licence.
- Vehicle - any conveyance used for transportation by water, land or air.
